The best way to attract customers in the chaos is to market effectively. Most of the vendors had clear signs mentioning the price of their products, i thought it was a brilliant move.

When photographing a busy scene such as this floating market, it is recommended that you keep shifting postions to capture the action from different points of view. I'am always a big fan of overhead shots and try to incorporate them wherever possible, as you can see here the overhead shot worked out pretty well.

The busy lanes of the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, Bangkok
The best time to visit the floating market is early in the morning between 7am to 9am. It is when the markets will be at their most authentic with most of the dealings catering to the locals. Around 9am the tourists start to arrive and things tend to get a bit chaotic for the next couple of hours. Everything winds down by midday.

It was yummy. A a taco like wrapper filled with sweet cream and grated coconut and carrots. Delicious albeit a bit sweet.

Lots of knick knacks available to cater to the tourists. They are lovely though. It'll make for wonderful gifts.

Busy sidelines are where the action is.
The center of the canal is kept clear for two-way boat traffic but the sides are where the action is. Along both banks of the canals, there numerous boat stalls selling stuff ranging from drool inducing snacks and sweets to fresh tasty fruits. Its hard to keep your taste buds on leash here.
